Successful 14th annual Rayleigh stud sale

The results of the14th annual Rayleigh Hereford Stud bull sale at Narrabri on Friday again confirmed that ‘regardless of seasonal conditions, quality pays’ commented Nutrien Narrabri agent Bruce Evans.

Sale attendees from the western areas commented on their low rainfall this year compared to the Narrabri district. However, the Rayleigh sale of bulls and females bred at the Holcombe family’s long established stud saw the top price bull sold for $22,000 with 24 out of 28 sold to average $12,292. The annual sale again drew buyers from a wide area of NSW and Queensland joined by online bidders.

“There was an outstanding turnout of new and repeat buyers at the 14th annual Rayleigh Bull and Female Sale on Friday” reports Nutrien Narrabri agent Bruce Evans. “Buyers travelled from Queensland, Southern NSW, the Mid-North Coast and throughout Northern NSW.

North west producers armed with renewed optimism from the season at hand were among the buying gallery at the Rayleigh Poll Hereford bull sale where bulls boasting breed leading marbling figures were highly sought after.

Youth members looking for foundation bloodlines and repeat clients chasing new genetics supported the annual sale of the Holcombe family near Burren Junction on Friday with prices soaring to $12,000.
